The SIA is a division of the BIA, dedicated to the improvement and promotion of the Sailing Industry. Seven Committee Members govern the association, and all work within the Sailing Industry.
The SIA's main objectives include the following:
- To increase the awareness of the Sailing Industry to the general public as a whole.
- To implement and utilise key promotional activities in order to raise this awareness
- To encourage different markets (including the youth) to participate in sailing activities
- To continually educate the sailing fraternity on how to benefit from self-promotion and activities run through the SIA.
In order for the SIA to be successful at implementing these objectives, they take a strong and active role in the Sydney International Boat Show. Utilising a stage area dedicated to sailing, the SIA action numerous activities that result in their objectives being realised.
