How do I become a Clean Marina?

There are three steps to becoming a Clean Marina:

Level 1: The Clean Marina Pledge
A public commitment to improve.

Level 2: Clean Marina - Self Assessment
Self-assessment through the Clean Marinas Australia checklists, and the achievement of basic environmental management systems.

Level 3: Clean Marina - Independent Assessment
Assessment by a duly trained and qualified Clean Marinas Consultant, conducted every other year. Level 3 status acknowledges the achievement of rigorous environmental management systems.

Importantly, the process is aided by the provision of a step-by-step, easy to follow handbook. The handbook outlines operational guidelines for environmental management, including processes for pumpouts, hull cleaning, turbidity, emissions, management of wastewater and accidental spills as well as staff training and education of boat enthusiasts.
