Over 100,000 people actively sail in Australia with 128 sailing clubs in NSW alone. With clubs relying on volunteer activity as the major source of income and program development, access for kids is hindered by the limited resources clubs have available.
The Boating Industry Association, through its Sailing Industry Division, and in conjunction with Yachting NSW, has developed a program called “Optimist Sailing Boats for Kids” that will see an injection of Optimist Sailing vessels into clubs.
Your help is needed. Sponsor one or more of these vessels and help kids learn to sail.
Program outline:
• The program offers businesses the opportunity to sponsor one or more of these inexpensive vessels.
• A fleet will be permanently issued to a complying sailing club each time eight vessels are sponsored.
• As a sponsor of a vessel, your logo will be permanently located on that vessel. You have the opportunity to sponsor vessels at more than one location.
• The program is managed and administered by the Boating Industry Association of NSW Ltd (BIA) and overseen by the Sailing Industry Association of NSW with the chairman reporting to the Board of Directors of the BIA NSW.
