There are several levels of membership available and application and is dependant on your level of experience.
Joining the Shipwrights and Boat Builders Association of NSW can be done by downloading the application for membership form and returning the completed application, supporting documentation and payment to the BIA office. Email to info@bia.org.au or fax 02 9439 3983 or mail to:

SBA levels and membership criteria are as follows:
Group 1 Corporate
Registered corporation / business
Financial member of the Boating Industry Association of NSW (BIA)
(See BIA website www.bia.org.au for membership criteria)
Director meets Associate Level 1 membership criteria
Group 2 Associate
Associate level 1
Completed the Shipwrights trade course and provide certificate of proficiency
Provide a craftsmans certificate issued by an authorized training body
Documented industry work history as defined by SBA committee
Associate level 2
Completed the Shipwrights trade course and provide certificate of proficiency
Provide a craftsmans certificate issued by an authorized training body
Documented industry work history as defined by SBA committee
Associate level 3
Actively working in a capacity relevant to the Shipwright and Boatbuilding Trade
Provide evidence of apprenticeship indenture
Associate Retired
Not be actively working in the Shipwright and Boatbuilding Industry
Provide documented work history as specified by the SBA committee
