Electrical equipment must be regularly inspected and tested to ensure the safety of everyone using the equipment, and for employers to comply with their responsibilities and obligations under Work Health and Safety Legislation and Regulation.
This course will help you to understand theory of why and how to test portable appliances safely, and allow you to practice your skills on a variety of appliances. On successful completion of this course, you will be certified to inspect and test electrical equipment saving you time and money.
Course Content
• Australian Standard 3760 and Code of Practice, and relevant WHS Regulation. Electrical Practices for Construction Work 2007
• An introduction to electricity, its components and its dangers using case studies and group discussion
• Classes of equipment
• Using a portable tester safely and effectively
• How to conduct the appropriate inspection and text, attach the appropriate tag and complete the documentation accurately.
Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to test and tag their own equipment. You do not need to be a licensed electrician to attend this course.
